Gopher Tortoise/Fire Programs in Pinellas

George L. Heinrich is working with staff from three local nature preserves- Boyd Hill, Weedon Island, Brooker Creek- to promote a new series of powerpoint lectures and guided interpretive hikes regarding the ecological relationship between gopher tortoises and prescribed fire. They hope that it will generate additional support for prescribed burning at the three preserves.
